Fellow Membership Terms & Conditions.
Upon applying for membership, you agree to comply with our Memorandum and Association
Upon applying for membership, you agree to comply with our Memorandum and Association, which may be revised or amended periodically. Signing the Membership Declaration does not entail any legal or administrative obligations; it only signifies an individual's support in achieving the objectives of OARS and the affiliated organization. Membership allows participation in activities designed to achieve OARS's goals.
These terms and conditions form the foundation of the contract through which OARS delivers services to its members (you).
By becoming an OARS member, you automatically agree to these terms and conditions and authorize us to manage your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Membership with OARS provides you with membership at the Student, Affiliate, Associate, Member, or Fellow level. As an OARS member, you are entitled to an array of benefits. Membership benefits may differ based on membership level, such as active or passive membership. We reserve the right to modify benefits associated with OARS membership at any time and without prior notice.
Services provided by an external source are subject to the service provider's terms and conditions, and we do not accept liability for losses or damages resulting from faults, errors, or omissions in the provision of these services. We reserve the right to change our external sources without prior notice, and our decision on service providers is final.
When renewing your membership, your renewal payment automatically indicates your continued acceptance of all our terms and conditions. This does not grant you the right to transfer any rights and obligations, partially or fully, to anyone as per our terms and conditions.
It is very important to note that the Membership can only be used for academic purposes and carries no legal significance.
Professional Development and Conduct
By completing and submitting your membership application, you affirm that, as an OARS member, you commit to the development of others, intend to continuously develop your research-related management skills and professionalism, and agree to abide by OARS's Code of Practice for Fellows, associates, or members.
All Institute members must sign this Code upon joining and reaffirm their commitment annually. Failure to adhere to the Code may result in a formal complaint against you, leading to disciplinary actions as deemed appropriate.
Right to Refuse Applications or Downgrade Applications
We reserve the right to reject your application in the event of non-payment or if you fail to disclose any criminal convictions that are not yet spent or have pending prosecutions. You must also provide a declaration of insolvency or bankruptcy, if applicable. Please note that this information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and will only be considered if necessary. Spent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act need not be disclosed.
If you are granted membership, and it is subsequently discovered that any information you provided was false or misleading, we reserve the right to revoke your membership immediately and without the right to appeal.
Our assessment team has full authority to grade, upgrade, or downgrade your membership. We reserve the right to downgrade an application if, upon review, the evidence received does not meet the assessment criteria. You have the right to appeal a grade offer if you believe it does not accurately reflect your research experience. A review will be conducted, and the decision of the assessment team will be final and binding.
